5 out of 5 stars best energy drink/chew I have tried so far   August 25, 2010
S. Alouri
The good about this is...you feel its natural! No shaky hands after it effect goes. Usual energy drinks are not recommended right before workout time, but this one? its MADE for workout!

keep in mind..If you want to stay up all the night this is NOT for you...
If you feel exhausted and you still need to study more or do work that needs you to THINK then this is what you need. Many times I use the energy drinks but when I am exhausted I can't think anymore and I can't also sleep!!
I like the concentrate much better than the chews but both are good..

Read the ingredient list.

The ingredient, Quercetin, that is being hyped and sold by this company as a wonder drug for athletes can easily be purchased here online at Amazon or your local health food store for a fraction of the price, packaging and extra chemicals you're ingesting.

One hundred 500MG capsules of Quercetin can be purchased for $12.00.
That is 100 servings for $12.00 instead of 15 servings for $12.00.

The extra vitamins that are packaged along with the Quercetin you're probably already taking.

2 out of 5 stars More hype than performance.   July 14, 2010

This product is marketed as a solid replacement to a 5 hour energy shot. In reality its just a supplement for hardcore workout fanatics who have hit a plateau in their 5 hour workouts and need an extra boost (assuming they already tried everything else and nothing works). It does not give you energy. It helps metabolize the energy you have from already being in fantastic shape and eating a perfect diet. If you've done all that and still cant maintain an intense 5 hour training session, this is the last thing you can do to help give you a boost. And even at that it wont work for every workout fanatic.

It most definitely will not provide assistance to the average person looking to get a little pick-up in the middle of the day, and I really wish their marketing would reflect that. But I suspect they get just as much business from millions of mistaken consumers as they do from thousands of hardcore users.

Taste isnt great but can be dealt with, as can the staining effect on your teeth. Just chew gum immediately afterwards to fix both problems. Orange is alright and pineapple isnt horrid. The blueberry-pomegranate is loathsome.

1 out of 5 stars Energy? What Energy?   June 25, 2010

These chews are a complete waste of time and money. I tried them for two days then threw them out.

Now, perhaps I got some legitimate nutritional value from the vitamins and such, but as for energy, I felt none. Nothing. Nadda. Ziltch. I tried them in the morning, the afternoon, then before a workout. Not a single jump in overall energy.

Try those 5-hour energy shots instead. Those are the best I've tried so far. They're much better than Red Bull or any other horrible energy drink. The 5-hour energy shots actually work, and you can feel them working. And no crash. I only use half a bottle before my workout in the evening and that takes me through my workout and beyond with no problem. I would test out only a half a bottle at a time to see how you respond to it -- because it's a little pottent if you're not used to it.

But these FRS chews? Worthless.

4 out of 5 stars Those complaining about the free-trial 'fine print' should pay more attention!   June 16, 2010

The FRS website is very clear about the terms, prices, and auto-ship policies associated with the 14-day free trial. If you didn't know what you were signing up for - it's only because you didn't take time to read the terms. That's nobody's fault but your own.

It's true that you can often find the products for less at online retailers, UNLESS you plan to continue using the products indefinitely.

After 3 orders, the discount increases to 40% off and after 6 orders the discount jumps to 50% off for as long as you maintain your account (i.e. [...]/bag for chews, [...]/bottle for the concentrate). I've found no better price than this anywhere on the web, and the standing (but customizable) order offers unrivaled convenience.

To the reviewer who complained about UPS not delivering to their PO Box: UPS does not deliver *directly* to your PO Box - but they DO transfer shipments to USPS. This is how I receive my shipments. It's a little slower than UPS direct, but it works just fine regardless.

As for product performance? I prefer the drink concentrate over the chews - but both work as advertised to increase alertness and overall energy without caffeine or guarana jitters. Since I've started taking FRS daily, I feel AWAKE in the morning, and less fatigued at the end of a long workday. I'm also an avid cyclist, and I find FRS does seem to help with on-the-bike performance and post-ride recovery. It's also quite palatable on the bike if diluted more than recommended (2 to 4 oz in a 22 oz water bottle).

I'm not sure what others are expecting FRS to do (i.e. deliver methamphetamine-like rush??) - but I can say that it works for me, and I'm a satisfied customer. I only give the chews 4 stars because I prefer the drink concentrate. It seems to work better and more quickly than the chews - and helps me to stay hydrated at the same time.
