I have a stressful front desk job so I was drawn to the product after one reviewer compared it to xanax and now I feel I should contribute. Xanax has always worked like a charm for me but I've been off of it for a year and I was hoping to avoid the prescription drug route again. I truly wanted to see if herbal could produce any of those calming effects, regardless of how slight, I'd settle for anything. I was very hopeful but unfortunately these gelcaps didn't give me much more than a stomachache and dizzy nauseated feeling with my stress and worry on top of it. In all fairness, I did not take it longer than a week and a half because the side effects were just too rough with no pay off. This brand has many good reviews so I believe if you are determined to try kava kava and can get through the negative effects, it probably does work slightly for some people... but nowhere in this world nor in any other will it be on the same level as a prescription anti-anxiety med.

This product did indeed give me a relaxing effect but it wore off after I built tolerance too it. It had a nasty taste and tore my stomach up. If taken too much it put me too sleep almost instantly. It left my muscles the next day feeling very weak. It can only be used in times where your able to sleep and rest. I guess I took it during the day and felt groggy most of the time. It was an okay product. It shouldnt get all the hype like it was talked about in the islands where they use it everyday.

To the point, this stuff works at relaxing the muscles and the mind. I've tried a couple of other Kava brands, but this one worked the best. I see no reason to switch at this point. Where I used to rely on alcohol, a nice glass of wine or two to relax at night, I didn't enjoy drinking it. This allows me to destress and calm my mind, as well as my body after a long, difficult day of teaching and meetings. Some people may experience headaches, but I don't. Unlike alcohol which affects brain function, Kava allows me to do simply relax and remain alert. I highly recommend this product for anyone who is seeking relaxation and a calming of the mind, without hangovers or side effects. However, everyone may be affected differently by using this product.

I tried many herb supplements,Formula 303 and so on and nothing ever really worked. But once I popped a few of these Kava Kava pills by Gaia herbs, I noticed a great feeling take over me within 30 minutes. The feeling was great and it reduced all my anxiety. Euphoria took over me and it lasted for well over an hour. I honestly recommend buying this product by Gaia as it is probably the best quality you will find. I can't speak for anyone else though.
