Excellent Protein Supplement for Travelers July 27, 2010 Dzogchenpa (New York, NY USA) I recently spent three wonderful months in Nepal. It was very difficult to find quality energy bars there, even in the Thamel section of Kathmandu. When I did find some, they were expensive and/or of questionable quality. Fortunately, I had thrown a box of Builder's in my luggage. I now wish I had made that four boxes! When traveling, one might not have access to consistent quantities of quality protein. If you get ill or just feel you aren't giving your body what it needs by eating rice and lentils, a Builder's bar can supply a much-needed protein supplement. The bars are well-wrapped and keep well even in the heat and humidity of the monsoon season.
Lacking Normal Quality July 10, 2010 A. Baird 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am used to a high quality bar when I purchase these. This box had bars that had a crumbly coating. As I was eating them, pieces just kept falling off.
Awesome tasting, all natural protein bars July 4, 2010 HTBK (San Francisco, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It's tough to find all natural protein bars. It's also tough to find protein bars that taste good without being horrible for you (aka glorified candy bars). These are both.
They are fairly calorie heavy, but if you're burning a ton of calories, looking to bulk up, or even just maintaining with reasonable weightlifting and cardio, these are perfect. I look forward to having them, and they helped my wife get her chocolate fix during P90X without giving in and having a fat-laden chocolate bar.
The price for this variety pack is also unheard of for protein or energy bars, especially if you do subscribe and save.
Great product for a great price July 4, 2010 Amazon-er Highly recommend this product, whether as a workout supplement or as a snack/light breakfast. Unfortunately, it does have quite a bit of sugar and, despite its many vitamins and minerals, no Vitamin D. But, especially at the Subscribe & Save price, this is a steal of deal, especially considering that these bars are extremely tasty.
Palm kernel oil??? June 18, 2010 Native Texan (Houston, Texas) 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
I ordered a box of these based on reviews from vegan sites but when I got them I saw that a main ingredient is Palm kernel oil??? There is just nothing good about Palm kernel oil, either for your body, or for the planet. I can't believe they'd use it. I'm off to find another vegan protein bar...
