Taste horrible September 9, 2010 double t I hate the way it taste... I got the choco crisp one and it tastes very artificial; I definitely suggest you not to get that flavor...
nice balance between taste, protein, calories and fat grams September 8, 2010 John C. Martucci (Livingston NJ) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been trying a lot of different protein bars to eat after working out and most of them taste nasty. I like the power bar energy bars too, but they don't taste that well and I think you burn off 20 calories just chewing those things.
These bars are much better than those as they aren't like chewing a rawhide dog toy. The flavor is really good and I'm impressed by the good balance between high protein, low calories and fat grams. Taste aside other bars have higher calories or fat with equal or fewer protein.
Great Flavor! From Amazon June 28, 2010 S. L. Webster (North AL) I bought these for my granddaughter to eat as she ran from one practice to another. She really liked the flavor but wants to try another next time. I signed up for delivery every 2 months for the discount.
Great meal on the go March 28, 2010 F Lachance (Atlanta, GA USA) We have the auto-order set up, on Amazon, and it's less expensive even than local sale prices. We eat these bars often as a breakfast on the go - they fill you up until lunch or later. This is my husband's favorite flavor, I prefer the chocolate peanut butter. Higher i size and therefore calories than some of the other bars, but it does the job if you're hungry and don't feel like sitting down for a meal.
Ummm not what I wanted March 24, 2010 J. Williams (Riverside, CA) I gave it 3 stars because I went into trying it the first time assuming to expect it to be less good than I wanted. If I had known nothing about Protein Bars prior I would be giving this 2 stars. First off, I don't know if I like the taste, I mean it's not bad by any means, but the texture makes me unable to figure out if I like the flavor. They're chewy, and not in a good way. The taste besides that isn't spectacular, if the other reviews on here are any indication of what's a good protein bar and what's not. I don't think I'm cut out to eat these on a daily basis. The texture made it seem almost stale, I checked the date and no it's not expired. The Peanut Butter taste wasn't strong and not really that good. The chocolate was decent but kind of weak, with that said I bought it figuring as much so my expectations were low. I didn't think it was going to be delicious like a candy bar. It is packed as hell with protein and vitamins. And I didn't choke on it. I suppose this is something you eat when you want to get in better shape. If only Reces Peanut Butter Cups were as good for you as these *siiiigh* but I digress. I would have preferred a consistency that resembled human food. A point in their favor, I'm a dude who can EAT, and this did a very commendable job of making me feel like I'd eaten something of substance. It's very dense and that's good. I worked out 10-15 minutes after eating it. I don't know if it helped at all, but protein is good so I'm assuming it did. I want to try the Cliff Bars, reviews on here claim they mimic actual food, which I think I'd like.
I just can't get over the chewiness, maybe if I ate them on a regular basis my mouth and mind could adjust to the alien like texture. For all it provided though I'd recommend them, just don't expect a Hershey Bar delicious dessert treat. YMMV I'm sure some people love them - well they must I read some shining reviews.
